U.S. Air Force to End Orbital Express Mission (SPACE.com)

SPACE.com – WASHINGTON -The U.S. Air Force will deactivate the Pentagon's Orbital Express satellites theweek of July 2, eliminating any chance of NASA using the experimentalspacecraft to test robotic techniques applicable to future Mars sample returnmissions.

Reuters – The attorney for former NASA astronaut Lisa Nowak said on Friday his client's right to a fair trial is being jeopardized by a "big lie" that she wore a diaper during a nonstop 950-mile (1,530-mile) drive to confront a romantic rival.

Pseudo-satellites allow accurate navigation in Helsinki harbour

Pseudo-satellites, ground-based substitutes used when signals from ‘real’ satellites are not available, can deliver accurate positioning information in places where conventional solutions fail. This was demonstrated on 27 June in Helsinki harbour as part of a project supported by ESA.

Russia has launched carrier rocket “Zenith-M”

Moscow, 29 june – RIA News. The Russian carrier rocket “Zenith-M” with military satellite has been successfully launched from Baikonur at 14.00 (Moscow time). The military satellite extends of group “Cosmos”of Russian satellites.

The construction of rocket is similar to “Zenith-3SL” of sea landing. It has two stages with new modified liquid engines.

Cooperation agreement for satellite navigation in Africa

ESA and the Agency for Security of Air Navigation in Africa and Madagascar have signed a cooperation agreement with the objective of using satellite navigation to improve air traffic safety over the African continent.
