In ESA’s Space Operations Centre (ESOC) in Darmstadt in Duitsland werde, signalen opgevangen van de Amerikaanse Marslander Phoenix. Ze waren opgeslagen door de ESA-sonde Mars Express die rond de Rode Planeet draait.

Arctic explorer delivers unique snow-depth data for CryoSat

Following a formidable 106-day trek across the Arctic, which ended with the two Arctic Arc expedition members relying on Envisat images to guide them safely through disintegrating sea-ice, intrepid polar explorer Alain Hubert recently visited ESA to handover a unique set of snow-depth measurements.

Timeline: Mars Express support to Phoenix landing

Beginning late on 25 May, Mars Express will execute a series of pre-programmed commands specially designed to support NASA’s Phoenix lander. The ESA spacecraft will conduct a high-speed slew, enabling it to track Phoenix as it enters the martian atmosphere.
