Water on Earth and in space – the ESA/UNICEF water quiz

To mark ESA astronaut Frank De Winne’s six-month OasISS mission to the International Space Station, and triggered by his role as goodwill ambassador for UNICEF Belgium, ESA’s Human Spaceflight Education Team has teamed up with UNICEF to launch an online quiz for 12-14 year old European children.

SMOS team gears up for launch campaign

With launch just two months away, members of the SMOS team are currently in Russia inspecting the facilities where the launch campaign will soon get underway to prepare the ESA’s water mission for liftoff on 2 November.

Oberpfaffenhofen opens fourth ESA hotbed for innovative companies

ESA, the German Aerospace Center (DLR), the German federal state of Bavaria and the German bank Kreissparkasse München Starnberg opened the fourth ESA Business Incubation Centre in Oberpfaffenhofen on 3 August. Over the next four years, some 40 company start-ups are expected to be supported there.

Cyprus signs Cooperation Agreement

Cyprus signed a Cooperation Agreement with ESA on 27 August 2009. The objective of this agreement is to allow Cyprus and ESA to create the framework for more-intensive cooperation in ESA projects in the future.
